The Loveable Farmers’ Market, by Maicey Benjamin

If you had to pick the five most important factors that create a super farmers’ market, they would be: local, local, local, great food, great service. The Bobcaygeon Farmers’ Market has adhered to these principles. It is now in its tenth year, and in each succeeding year, vendor participation and patron response has increased.

The selection of vegetables (some organic) and fruits available are not only local, their variety and tastes are superb. We also feature delicious baking products, a variety of pestos, award winning cheeses, cheese appetizers, chimichurri, chicken, organic meats, smoked meats and fish, herbs, homemade drinks, jams, jellies fudge fruit and meat pies, bagels, breads, pastries, granola, east Indian foods, apple cider, honey, maple syrup, cakes and patties.

Also  available are homemade herbal remedies, garden art, photography, magnificent furniture, pottery, jewelry, knitting, crocheting, quilting, flowers (both annual and perennial), and some very wholesome worm compost.

Since our vendors are all local (some even from the neck up), close interactions can take place and many of our patrons will visit the vendors’ home locations to purchase additional products and enjoy unique experiences.

We also feature a community table where local not-for-profit-organizations can promote their causes.

We are always looking for volunteers, so if you have some free time on Saturday mornings…

(we do supply an abundance of perks, coffee, coffee, and more coffee.

Please give us a call at: 705-738-9426. The Bobcaygeon Farmers’ Market is open on Saturdays from 8:00 am – 1:00 pm, May 18th to October 12th, 2019 at the Bobcaygeon Fairgrounds, Mansfield Street and King Street.

Come and join us, enjoy the shopping experience and have lots of fun!
